The 15th Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPIE) maintained in Dharamsala, India began its sixth session on September 18, 2013.

The ten days session opened with passing resolutions to stand in solidarity and show respect to the Tibetans who have self-immolated for the freedom of Tibet since 2009, where the Tibetan parliamentarians observed a minute's silence in their honor.

"China’s policy of modernization to fulfill the aspirations of Tibetans has only ruined the Tibetan identity, culture, religion and its environment,” said Penpa Tsering, speaker of the Tibetan parliament and appealed the Chinese government to resolve the crisis inside Tibet by investigating the real Tibetan situation.

The session will mainly focus and discuss on the 2012-2013 annual reports of the different departments of Kashag, Tibetan Cabinet, presently located in Dharamsala.

The sixth session of the 15th Parliament will conclude on September 28, 2013.
