Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama arrived in the city of Atlanta in Georgia Saturday afternoon. The Dalai Lama began his first of a three-day program at Emory University Sunday morning by addressing a press meet together with University President James Wagner. Emory began its partnership with Tibet in 1998, sending students and scholars to the Dalai Lama's exile home in India to study with the monks each year. The university also has developed a science textbook written in Tibetan for the monk. As a presidential distinguished professor at Emory, the Dalai Lama provides private teaching sessions with students and faculty who travel to visit him in India as part of a study abroad program.
