Dalai Lama Meets Eldest Living Grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi

Sumitra Gandhi Kulkarni, eldest living grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi paid a visit to the Dalai Lama at Sera Monastery, Southern India during the fifth day of LamRim teaching to over thirty thousand followers on December 29, 2013.

The Dalai Lama expressed joy in meeting a family member of his idol Gandhi, whose philosophy of Non-Violence is highly preached by him.

Dr. Kulkarni said, for her, the Dalai Lama is a reincarnation of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, so she prefers to call him ‘Guru’ instead.

The Dalai Lama shared the conversation he had with Dr. Kulkarni with the masses and invited her to a meeting to be held in September of 2014.
