The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Monday expressed a wish to visit Russia again.

“Many Buddhists in Russia always want me to come there. I am very eager to visit old and new friends in Russia, and share my thoughts with the people,” the exiled Tibetan leader said during a press conference with a group of around 27 Russian journalists who were covering his Nov 30-Dec 2 teaching to a group of 1,035 Russian Buddhists at Dharamsala.

The Dalai Lama previously visited the erstwhile Soviet Union and thereafter Russia under President Boris Yeltsin several times. He has been denied visas under President Vladimir Putin and Medvedev.
