Children and Senior Citizens of Jampa Ling Settlement

Feature series on the outlying Tibetan settlements in Nepal with a story on the Pokhara settlement of Jampaling.

Stringer Gaden Tashi interviews with residents of a retirement home for families of men who fought in the campaigns out of Mustang in the 1960s and 70s captures the remarkable resilience of the men who still retain a strong sense of camaraderie, and express solidarity with all Tibetans and gratitude to the Tibetan government in exile for providing for them during their old age.

Tashi contrasts the lives of the senior citizens to the students and teachers of Lekshey Tsal, a Primary school with 200 students, which has been remarkably successful in integrating Tibetan literature and basic Buddhism classes into its core curriculum.
