41 settlement officers and 3 coordinators from Tibetan settlements in India and Nepal gathered in Dharamsala for a four-day 8th annual conference of Tibetan settlement officers. The paricipants will discuss issues affecting the Tibetan exile community such as sustainable development, self-reliance, protection of lands, and promotion of harmonious relationship with the Indian community.
In his opening address, the head of the Tibetan exile administration Lobsang Sangay highlighted the importance of building a sustainable settlement in exile. Cabinet ministers of the administration also addressed during the opening ceremony.
