India, Nepal Hold Talks on Security and Regional Issues

Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna is in Nepal where he has held talks on border security and regional issues with the country's prime minister.

Krishna arrived Friday in Katmandu for a three-day visit, his first trip to Nepal since becoming foreign affairs minister.

In a Friday statement, Krishna says he is confident his visit will strengthen and expand bilateral relations between the two countries and provide more areas of cooperation for "mutual benefit."

During his visit, the two countries are expected to sign agreements on road construction and other development projects in Nepal.

The foreign minister is leading a delegation that is scheduled to hold talks with high-level Nepalese officials.
