Tibetan Parliament Session Wraps Up Without Concluding Sitting བོད་སྐད།


The 8th session of 14th Tibetan Parliament in-exile was forced to wrap up due to the short fall of Parliament members on Saturday without concluding session.

The concluding session failed to resume thrice due to the short of member's attendance. According to the charter, attendance of two-third of members is required for the smooth functioning of Session- 28 members out of 43 members. There were 25 members during the first two sessions and 27 members during the third session.

Left with no choice, Speaker Penpa Tsering finally decided to wrap up the session without its final sitting. The Tibetan Parliament had been in session since September 7, the Ninth session of the Tibetan Parliament will resume sometime in March 2010.
