Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai lama,
has suspended his upcoming engagements to undergo medical tests, after
experiencing discomfort during recent travels.
The Dalai Lama's
office announced Wednesday that the 73-year-old Buddhist leader is
canceling planned trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The
announcement says his doctors have diagnosed exhaustion and recommended
that he complete medical tests that he began earlier in Mumbai, India.
