India Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Tibetan Community བོད་སྐད།


The Venu Menon Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred to Tibetan Community for responding spontaneously for the call by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and animal welfare organisations to not to wear, buy or sell animal products. Setting an example to the rest of the world. Kalon Tenpa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi, received the award on behalf of Tibetan community from Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, Member of Parliament and renowned Indian scholar on 19th February 2008 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, widow of the late Prime Minister's son, gave keynote address of the Award Ceremony and said that Jama Masjid area in Delhi is shame on India and the city where illegal wildlife business of millions of Indian Rupees are transacted within a minute.
