Recently the United Nations General Assembly unanimously approved October 2nd, the birthday Mahatma Gandhi, as the United Nations’ Non-Violence Day. On the 138th birthday of Gandhi, Kunleng TV looks back at the Indian leader’s political legacy, its impact on world affairs and in particular, to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, who is a great admirer of Mahatma Gandhi. The discussion also includes relations between Tibet and India during Gandhi’s life and Tibet’s participation in the ‘First Asian Relations Conference’ which was organized by Gandhi in 1947. Our guests will be Sangye Tandar Naga, translator of Gandhi’s ‘India Home Rule’ from English to Tibetan, who will join us from Dharamsala via Ichat webcam, and Mr. Namkha Tenzin, VOA Tibetan Service Staff, who will be in the Studio with Kunleng TV host Dorje Tseten.
