Since China's invasion in the 1950s, Tibetans have experienced waves of political and social dislocation and turmoil. Once an isolated nation, generations of Tibetans have now experienced collective trauma as a consequence of political persecution, economic dispossession, forcible exile, imprisonment and torture. This week's Kunleng explores the impact of this collective trauma with Dr. Lobsang Rabgey, a medical doctor and professor at UCLA trained in both traditional Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and Western psychical analysis.

Kunleng is simulcast on television via satellite, on shortwave radio, and via the Internet in real time. Tune in every Wednesday at 1400-1500 UTC, 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm Lhasa time.
