For Tibetans outside Tibet, passing down the Tibetan language to the next generation is an ongoing challenge. From Beijing to New York, many Tibetan parents are dismayed by the rapid loss of Tibetan language and culture. To tackle this challenge, some Tibetan communities in North America are trying to create Tibetan language schools and childern's cultural centers to teach Tibetan language and customs. Tibetan TV call-in show invites two leaders in this campaign to teach Tibetan language to Tibetan children in the North America. Mr.Tsering Wangyal, Director of the Tibetan Cultural School of Minnesota, and Ven. Pema Dorjee, Director of the Tibetan Cultural School of NY & New Jersey, will discuss their progress and the challenges they continue to face. Our correspondent Gyaltsen Tsering travels to Minnesota to report on the Tibetan cultural school's experience.
