Talk to VOA TV: HIV/AIDS Treatment

Real Player Windows Media

With China and India's escalating rates of HIV infections, many worry that Tibetan vulnerability to the virus continues to rise. Experts warn that the pervasiveness of prostitution in Tibetan urban centers, combined with the lack of AIDs education, the low standard of education in general, and the TAR government's insistence that the disease does not exist in Tibet, may all potentially lead to a serious AIDS epidemic within the Tibetan population. Tibetan TV call-in show invites two Tibetan doctors, one trained in Western medicine and one trained in Tibetan medicine tradition to discuss HIV, AIDS and how Tibetan communities both in Tibet and India should confront the disease.
