European Parliament Delegation Discusses the Tibetan Refugee Problems with Nepalese Officials


The visiting EU parliament delegation to Nepal had enquired about the status of Tibetan refugees in Nepal.

It is reported that according to available source the seven-member EU delegation who arrived in Kathmandu to see the changed political situation in Nepal held a meeting on July 17th with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker of the House Subash Nemwang and Members of the Parliament.

During their meeting, the EP Member and President of the European Parliament Members Forum for Tibet, Mr.Thomas Mann raised the issue, whether China is putting any pressure on Nepal with regard to Tibetans in Nepal, to which a Nepalese, Member of Parliament said that Nepal's One-China policy is due to Nepal's Non-aligned policy and not due to pressure from China. The EU delegation is led by Neena Gill, an EU MP from England.
