Interview with Thupten Yarphel: Shepherd, Political Prisoner, History Scholar

Presently a monk at Namgyal monastery, Dharamsala, Kusho Thupten Yarphel tells the riveting story of how he grew up as a shepherd in Tsang, and his role as one of the four monks and four nuns who protested in the Barkhor in 1989 and ignited the largest Lhasa demonstration since 1959. Kusho Yarphel has worked on nearly 200 books and authored nine of them himself.
