In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a group of twenty seven Tibetans from India immigrated to the United States for lumberjack positions, who worked for a number of years in the forest of America’s Maine state. Due to the remoteness of the area and other personal reasons, they ultimately moved to other places to seek a better future. In this week’s Table Talk, Mr. Wangchuk Dorjee recounts his experience as the team leader of the Tibetan lumberjacks in a different culture and country.
