Nearly hundred Tibetan scholars gathered at the Gyutoe Monastery in Dharamsala to attend a four-day symposium on the life and vision of Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama on February 25, 2016.

The symposium, organized by the Gelug Tenshug and Gratitude Committee set up last year to mark the 80th birthday of the Dalai Lama, is a part of their year-long agenda to spread the words and works of the Dalai Lama.

Tai Situ Rinpoche, the head of Palpung Sherab Ling and Kirti Rinpoche, former minister of CTA and head of Kirti monastery were speakers on the opening function, where over 20 scholars from different schools of Buddhism, professors from Tibetan colleges, and representatives from educational institutions were scheduled to present papers on the Dalai Lama's work on education, politics, democracy, challenges, and religious harmony.
