Second North American Exile Tibetan Parliamentary Candidate Debate Held In Virginia

The Voice of America's Tibetan Service interviews the six candidates running for the North America Chithue (representative to the 16th Tibetan Parliament) for the General Election 2016 of the Central Tibetan Administration.

The order of the interviews posted below are based on the list produced by the Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration based in Dharamsala, Northern India.

1. Tashi Namgyal

Tashi Namgyal shares his vision and reasons for standing for re-election in the upcoming Tibetan election, and says that he is the candidate to get things done for Tibet and Tibetans.

2. Pema Chagzoestang.

Pema Chagzoetsang says that she is optimistic about winning one of the two seats based on her experiences of serving Tibetan communities for the past 30 plus years, and believes she is someone who can bring action, unity, and results.

3. Tsewang Rinzin

Tsewang Rinzin says the international contacts he has developed over the years and the experience of serving as the President of the Tibetan Youth Congress in Dharamsala leaves him in a good position, and that today’s dire situation inside Tibet is an urgent call for action and that he is ready to get the job done.

4. Kalsang Phuntsok Godrukpa

Kalsang Godrukpa says that he is standing as a candidate for the next Tibetan parliamentary elections to represent Tibetans residing in North America, and that a person of his caliber and experience is needed for Tibet.

5. Kalsang GGT

Kalsang GGT says he is pledging to commit all his time and effort to serve the community and that he stands out as the only candidate who would be meeting all the expenses required from his own pocket.

6. Tenzin Rangdol

Tenzin Rangdol talks about his mission and the programs he has planned to be a viable candidate to serve the interests of all Tibetans, and that he stands a good chance in winning the election because of his commitment and stand for honesty, integrity, and accountability.
