New Tibetan Play Performing in San Diego, CA

Interview with Actor, Musician, Cultural Consultant and Choreographer Tsering Dorjee Bawa, on the new Tibetan Play, “The Oldest Boy” now playing in San Diego, California. Bawa said that the Southern California city is the fourth city where the Tibetan play is performed. He explained that each city’s theatre has its own set of actors, directors, and stage personnel, who must train for at least three weeks for a show of the Tibetan play to continue in the same theatre for one whole month. He added that through this play, the audience gets to learn all aspects of Tibetan culture and history, especially on the tradition of reincarnated lamas.
