Lha-bab Duchen and Other Main Buddhist Festivals

Interview with Geshe Lobsang Dhargey, of DNKL Tibetan Buddhist Center, CT, on the Buddhist festival celebrated this year on Nov 3, and other main Buddhist Festivals. Geshe la said that lha-bab Duchen which falls on the 22nd of the ninth Tibetan month, marks the descent of the historical Shakyamuni Buddha from heaven, after repaying his mother’s kindness by imparting teachings there. This festival as well as other main Buddhist festivals, like the Saga dawa are observed mainly by devoting to religious activities.
