Tibetan Buddhist scholars, scientists and students from various parts of the world on November 03, gathered at TCV Auditorium in Dharmsala, Northern India for a three day conference on Cosmology and Consciousness on the theme of Harmony and Happiness. The Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in Dharamsala organized the conference under its Science for Monks program.

Geshe Lhakdor, Director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in his introductory speech said “I trust that the purpose of both science and Buddhism is to enrich and ennoble life. This is possible only if the truth and wisdom obtained from them are lived and practiced. How can we do this is the real issue at hand. This is much more than something to just talk about.”

The conference is attended by hundreds of people including religious representatives of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile and students from various educational institutions around Dharamsala including nuns and monks.

The first conference of Cosmology and Consciousness on Mind and Matter, a dialogue between Buddhist Scholars and Scientists was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama at Dharamshala in December, 2011. The second conference ‘Knowing and Action’ was held at the Songtsen Library in Dehradun in 2013.
