Tibetan Medicare System Enters its Third Year

Interview with Tsegyal Dranyi, Additional Secretary, Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration on the first ever Tibetan medical insurance program. Dranyi said that the medicare system providers need to reach out to more Tibetan communities in diaspora so that all will be benefited by it. He said that his department, local health workers, and community leaders are doing everything to educate about the program (which just entered its third year on April 1), and hopes that there will be a better and sustained response, particularly from the poorer and weaker sections of the population.
