Indian Buddhists and Linkage to Tibet

A two day conference on Buddhism called the Indian Buddhist Congregation was recently held in the Indian state of Maharashtra, which has one of the highest number of Indian Buddhists in India. The conference was attended by Indian Buddhist leaders, Buddhist scholars and followers from various parts of India. Most of the attendees were the followers of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who is considered one of the most famous Indian Buddhist converts of recent times. From the Tibetan side, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok attended the conference and delivered a talk on the closing day of the conference. Table Talk invites the Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, member of the exile Tibetan parliament to discuss the revival and general interest on Buddhism amongst the Indian population and its relation to Tibet.
