Thousands of Tibetans celebrated the 77th birthday of the Dalai Lama on Friday. In addition to traditional gatherings and events, Tibetan communities in exile this year organized various events to celebrate their spiritual leader's birthday.
Tibetans in Minnesota and District of Columbia served home cooked food to the homeless in the area. Tibetans in Taiwan and Toronto held cultural parades. Those in Delhi and Nepal served fruit juice and cold water to the local people.
