Preparations For The Kalachakra in Ladakh Almost Complete


Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche, a member of the organizing committee for the Dalai Lama’s Kalachakra in Ladakh says that preparations are on track and almost completed. Around 150,000 devotees are expected to attend the 33rd Kalachakra by the Dalai Lama at Choglamsar in Ladakh from July 3 - 14, 2014. Rinpoche told VOA that local hotels, transports and shops are being encouraged not to charge more than normal season rates. The Dalai Lama normally arrives at the site of the Buddhist initiation and teaching several days before the event in order to complete proscribed prayers and rituals and is scheduled to be in Ladakh from June 17 through July 14.
