Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar, calligraphic artist

After serving the government of Sikkim and the Tibetan Government in Exile for many years, Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar took up his innovative practice ofTibetan calligraphy. He is the record holder for the longest calligraphic scroll measuring 165 meter under the World Record Academy. Chakrishar tells VOA that Tibetans have a lot to explore when it comes to the myriad of Tibetan script forms that lend themselves to creating calligraphic art.
