The European Parliament has passed a resolution in which it called on China to reveal the whereabouts of those who self-immolated and to allow unrestricted access for media and human rights monitors. The resolution also asked EU foreign policy Chief Ashton to step up efforts to tackle the abuses and appoint a special EU coordinator for Tibet.

Since February 2009, at least 38 Tibetans have set themselves ablaze to protest China’s repressive rule on Tibet.
