Dalai Lama Meets With MIT Scientists in Cambridge - 2003-09-15

Dalai Lama attended a two-day conference titled “Mind and Life” at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. The sold out conference aimed to identify the common ground between Tibetan Buddhism and science. Can concentration and anger be controlled? Can attention be practiced and perfected. These are questions that are of increasing interest today to scientists, but which Buddhist monks have been exploring for thousand of years. The Dalai Lama said at one point that he hoped science could provide answers in areas where inward contemplation cannot. The conference at the MIT concluded Sunday evening.
