Bush 'Inspired' to Have Traveled to Free, Democratic Iraq

President Bush has reiterated support for the Iraqi government and says the United States will do what it takes to help Iraq succeed.

Mr. Bush made the comment Wednesday at the White House, one day after making a surprise visit to Baghdad.

He told reporters he was "inspired" to be able to visit the capital of a free and democratic Iraq. He said it was a pleasure to meet face-to-face with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Mr. Bush acknowledged tough challenges remain in Iraq but said he is confident of success. He said the world will be more dangerous if troops pull out before Iraq is able to defend and sustain itself.

Tuesday in Baghdad, President Bush told Prime Minister al-Maliki that the United States will help Iraq succeed. Mr. al-Maliki said the Iraqi government is determined to defeat terrorism with the help of the U.S
