China Releases Tibetan Political Prisoner

The Chinese authorities released a Tibetan political prisoner on August 13, 2014 after completing a two-year prison term.

Tsekyab of Serta Yarlung County, Karze Prefecture was arrested by the authorities on August 13, 2014 for allegedly distributing political literature as a member of 'Anti-Communist Tibetan Youth Party."

“We welcome the hero of Tibetan freedom struggle, Tsekyab” was written as the slogan on posters when his family members and the local Tibetans welcomed Tsakyab upon his release.
