With the aim of fostering closer relationship between the Tibetans in the West and India, and to enable the Tibetan communities to become self-reliant in the long run, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has introduced the Sister Shichak initiative. As per this initiative, the New York and New Jersey Tibetan Community in U.S. has adopted Hunsur and Bandara Tibetan settlements in India, thus becoming the first Tibetan communities in the west to embrace this initiative. Table Talk invites Kunga Thinley, the President of New York and New Jersey Tibetan Association and Tsundue Rabgyal (Chairman of Hunsur Local Assembly) and Sonam (Hunsur) to discuss the importance and expectations of this initiative.
