Geshe Pema Dorjee: Community Aid Organizer

While researching the Bodong Buddhist tradition at the behest of H.H. Dalai Lama, Geshe Pema Dorjee discovered the dire need for improved educational, healthcare and social aid in the remote Himalayan regions of India and Nepal. In 2003, he started setting up charitable schools, social support projects, medical clinics etc., in areas of Arunchal Pradesh, India and Nepal. Geshe la, who’d formerly served as principals of TCV and Sarah college in Dharamsala, tells VOA that he is motivated to help the neediest people, regardless of their cultural or ethnic backgrounds.
