Tenzin Ngawang: An artist

Tenzin Ngawang is the founder and the lead singer of a Minnesota based Tibetan music band called Melong, meaning mirror in Tibetan. Prior to his participation in Melong, Ngawang was a prominent member of the Aa-Ka-Ma band of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) based in Dharamsala, India. Ngawang has traveled around the world to perform Tibetan music and has participated in various Tibetan productions including Kipo, a Tiger Lion Arts production, where he played the lead role. He also plays a pivotal role in preserving Tibetan dance and culture in the west through teaching younger generation Tibetans in Minnesota how to play Tibetan musical instruments, songs, and dances.
