Sherab Tsedor, a young Tibetan activist of Youth Volunteer for Free Tibet from Samyeling Tibetan Colony, Delhi has begun an indefinite hunger strike on October 24, 2013 during the United Nations Day at Jantar Mantar to remind them about the atrocities and human rights violations in Tibet.

"More than 120 Tibetans have set themselves on fire in protest against the China’s human rights violation in Tibet. It seems UNO has forgotten the purpose of its establishment. I want to remind them," says Tsedor while speaking to media on being asked about his hunger strike.

Mr. Lekey Dorjee, the welfare officer of Tibetans in Delhi representing the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration, and the leaders of Samyeling Tibetan colony offered him a scarf and wished him success on his mission. However, the Indian authorities of the area have granted one day permission to sit for hunger strike and told him that indefinite hunger strike is not allowed at Jantar Mantar. "I have one day permission. The area police told me to sign a paper for one day permission which I denied to sign. I am determined to continue my hunger strike," says Tsedor.

Tsedor has organized many activities to raise the issue of Tibet in India. He had also tried to set himself on fire in front of the China Embassy in New Delhi on November 4, 2011. He took a peace march alone from Delhi to Dharamsala in 2007 & 2008.
