Tibetan Women's Association Elects New President


Members of the Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) elected its new president and executive members on the final day of TWA's 10th General Body Meeting.

Tashi Dolma, a former vice president of the largest Tibetan women's group was unanimously elected as its new president. Samten Choedon was re-elected as the vice president of the TWA and Nyima Lhamo was elected as its new General Secretary.

After six days meeting to discuss future course of women's initatives and actions, the TWA passed 17 points resolutions to further efforts in strengthening education and social status of Tibetan women's inside Tibet, and to highlight Tibetan issues worldwide.
