Nepal Sentences Tibetan Marcher to 5 Years in Prison


Nepal court sentenced Tibetan activisit Tsetan Dorje to five years in prison on charges of illegally entering the country. Dorjee, who was arrested on the outskirts of Kathmandu on his march to Tibet from India, was detained for more than a month before his sentencing.

Dorjee's mother Dhumpo Kyi and sister Lhamo Kyi marched along with Dorje from Dharamsala to Nepal border, from where Dorjee attempted a march alone to his home country Tibet. He was arrested by Nepal police for entering Nepal without proper travel documents.
