Dalai Lama Speaks at Delhi University

The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama began his two day talk on the topic titled “What is Life All about” at the Delhi University Convention hall on Monday.

“The very purpose of life is to lead a happy life” said the Dalai Lama to a group of 250 students and professors gathered at the hall. Adding that happiness and less worry will lead to a healthier life, the spiritual leader said positive emotions such as compassion, kindness and patience will help one live a happy life.

The Dalai Lama will also deliver a lecture on "Ethics for the New Millennium" Tuesday afternoon. The talk is being held in memory of the great scientist and academician, D R Kothari, known as the architect of defense science in India.

The Delhi University awarded the Dalai Lama with the title of adjunct honorary professor in 2009.

According to the Dalai Lama's Representative Kalon Tempa Tsering, the Embassy of Czech Republic in Delhi will host a dinner reception for His Holiness in honor of his 75th birthday.
