On the last day of the 3-day teachings for a group of Russian Buddhists, the Dalai Lama conferred the empowerment of Buddha Akshobhya at Kempinski Hotel in Delhi, India on December 23, 2013.

Around 1500 devotees present at the teaching including 1300 Buddhists from Russian Federation have received the empowerment.

The Dalai Lama began the Akshobhya empowerment with general introduction of four tantras. "One should understand that three lower trantras are preliminary and the Anutarayoga tantra is the main tantra," said the Dalai Lama.

The main teaching was the continuation of last year's teachings on Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara held at the same venue in Delhi.

After giving the empowerment, the Dalai Lama has left for Sera Monastery in Bylakuppe in South India to continue his teachings on the 18 Great Stages of the Path (Lam Rim) commentaries starting from December 25, 2013 to January 3, 2014.
