3,000 Attend Dalai Lama’s Talk in Austria

Thousands of people attended the Dalai Lama’s public talk on the ‘Art of Happiness’ in Klagenfurt, Austria on Sunday, 20 May 2012.

In an interview with VOA Tibetan service, Tseten Samdup, Representative of the Dalai Lama in Geneva, said that the Tibetan spiritual leader gave the public talk to a fully packed auditorium, the largest in Klagenfurt, Austria. The front rows were occupied by Austrian officials, including the Governor of the state, who had accompanied the Dalai Lama for the last four days of his visit.

Earlier in the morning, the Dalai Lama addressed a gathering of about three hundred Tibetans in Austria, where he talked about the importance of preserving Tibetan culture and making Tibetan children fluent in the Tibetan language. He said that parents must speak Tibetan to their children. Sources: Interview with Tseten Samdup Chokyappa, Representative of the Dalai Lama in Geneva, Switzerland.
