20 Players Selected for Tibetan National Football Team

Tibetan National Sports Association (TNSA) selected 20 players to play in the Tibetan national football team -a team comprised of players from Tibetan communities around the world- after holding a selected match at footballs grounds of TCV School in Dharamsala. Of the 60 players invited from different parts of Tibetan exile community, 47 had turned up to play at the selection match. Three experienced international football coaches selected 20 players and put 10 in waiting list.

The game has always had a passionate following among Tibetans since it was introduced to Tibet in the 1940s. In 2006, the Tibetan National Football Team played in FIFI World Cup, the alternative world cup of association football run by FIFI in Hamburg, Germany.
