Hundreds of Tibetans and their supporters staged a protest outside of the French Foreign Ministry as Chinese Premier Zhu Rongje was meeting with French officials. The demonstrators called on China to begin an earnest dialogue with the Dalai Lama or his representatives and also call for release of all Tibetan political prisoners, including Gedun Chokyi Nyima, the boy recognized by the Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the 11th Panchen Lama who died in 1989.
