Dalai Lama Meets New Zealand Labor Leader བོད་སྐད།

New Zealand's Labor Party leader has met with the Dalai Lama, who is visiting Auckland.

Phil Goff held talks with the Tibetan spiritual leader Saturday, the same day the Dalai Lama gave a lecture to about 1000 people on developing a peaceful mind.

Prime Minister John Key chose not to meet the Dalai Lama, noting they had met before.

On Monday, the Dalai Lama will return to Australia where he has been giving a series of talks on universal responsibility and the environment. He is scheduled to visit Hobart and Melbourne before concluding his trip.

While in Sydney last Monday, the Dalai Lama urged world leaders to make finding a solution to climate change their number one priority.

His visit to Australia coincides with the 20th anniversary of him being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to peacefully resolve the issue of Chinese-ruled Tibet.
