A Tibetan Film Wins Award at Shanghai Film Festival


Tibetan film maker Pema Tseden's "The Search" was awarded the Jury Grand Prix at the 12th Shanghai International Film Festival.

"It is the most challengin film we saw," said Danny Boyle, the director of Slumdog Millionaire who was the head of the Shanghai Festival jury. "We look forward to many more films from Tibet."

"Search" is Tibetan director Pema Tseden's sixth film since 2003. His previous film The Silent Mani Stone won the New Currents Award at the South Korean Pusan International Film Festival.
