More than 3, 000 Monks Attend the Great Prayer Festival in Dharmsala བོད་སྐད།

The Great Prayer Festival or Monlam Chemo was held this morning at the Central Cathedral in Dharmsala. More than 3, 000 monks and nuns have converged on Dharmsala to attend the Monlan Chemo. This is the greatest religious festival in Tibet and the great Tibetan philosopher Je Tsong Khapa established this tradition in 1409. The Ven. Jampa Tenzin, who is attending the Monlam Chemo, talks about the contrasts and comparisons of the Monlam Chenmo in Tibet before 1959 and in exile.
