Kunleng Tibetan TV: Students for a Free Tibet

Members of Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) staged a protest at the base camp of Mt. Everest that drew international attention to the plight of the Tibetan people. After Chinese authorities briefly detained the three American and one Tibetan-American protestors, they are now back in the US. This week's Tibetan TV program Kunleng host Ms. Lhadon Tethong, the Executive Director of Students for a Free Tibet, and Tenzin Dorjee, one of the protesters and Deputy Director of Students for a Free Tibet, to discuss the experience and their perspective on the Tibetan issue.

Join us each week for Kunleng- a 60 minute new magazine TV show from VOA Tibetan. Each program features an in depth look at the top stories of the week and a discussion segment. We invite experts to talk about important issues of the day of interest to Tibetans and we invite you to call in with your questions or comments.

Kunleng is simulcast on television via satellite, on shortwave radio, and via the Internet in real time. Tune in every Wednesday at 1400-1500 UTC, 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm Lhasa time.
