After Samdhong Rinpoche was elected prime minister of the Tibetan Government-in-exile, he began a series of reforms in the operation of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Among these changes, none has been more controversial than his decision to sell all the businesses owned by the CTA. This was seen by some in the Tibetan community as a bold move to cut the losses of inefficient enterprises that was associated with corruption within the government. Others were critical of this reform, warning that the Tibetan Government would soon lose the main revenue source and would have dire consequences. On this week's Tibetan TV call-in-show, we invite two former Tibetan ministers to discuss the different viewpoints on this debate.
