Ngawang Khechog is one of the most celebrated Tibetan musicians in the West. He is known for his innovation in creating his own unique sound, mixing traditional Tibetan windpipe instruments with Australian aboriginal and North American native Indian musical instruments. Ngawang Khechog's experimental music has now reached a global audience. It has not only been used for the sound track of major Hollywood motion pictures, he also performs with internationally-acclaimed luminaries such as Philip Glass, Paul Winter, Laurie Anderson, Paul Simon, Natalie Merchant, and Baba Olatunji. Tibetan TV call-in-show invites Nawang Khechog to VOA studio to talk about his life path from his hermitage in the Himalayan mountains to one of the most celebrated Tibetan musicians in West. The show also includes a package from Tibetan Service correspondent Pema Dorje who traveled to Ngawang Khechog's home in Boulder, Colorado, to film Ngawang Khechog's everyday life with his family and his music deep in the Rocky mountains.
