For the past two decades, human rights has been one of the central issues of the Sino-Tibetan conflict. For many Tibetans this has also been a learning experience about the concept of human rights itself. On the eve of International Human Rights Day, the Tibetan TV call-in show invites Dr. Losang Sangay, a fellow at Harvard Law school, and Mr. Lama Kyab, a former teacher at a law school in Qinghai, to discuss different approaches to the concept of human rights social and economic rights as opposed to civil and political rights and how these distinctions have impacted Tibet and the broader human rights discourse in general.
