TIME Asia has released a list of its top Asian heroes to celebrate the magazine's 60th anniversary. In its latest edition, TIME Asia says its list includes heroes produced during some of the most tumultuous decades of the most populous continent on earth.
Time Magazine, listed the Dalai Lama as one of the heroes, Tibet's spiritual leader is otherworldly, yet deeply engaged in this world. With remarkable subtlety, he teaches patience, humility and compassion.Other Asian heroes named by the magazine included India's Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Burmese democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi and China's Deng Xiaoping.
